Re: Parker/Livingston
Cousin Clifford's Big Y has him in R-FT88468, with two other members: David R. Shue (descendant of Chauncey Livingston d. 1822 Pennsylvania) and Joshua Kubichek (who has listed no ancestor) with 2 private variants. Whatever that means.

Parker/Livingston
Been a long. long time since I was here-James Livingston (1798 NY -1879 Iowa) who was once thought to be from James Livingston and Catherina Kuhn but learned through DNA is from the Parker/Livingston group. I wanted to let you all know that today I have ordered the Big Y for my cousin Clifton who wa...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
It turns out DNA has shown our branch to not be from James of Kinderhook. Scott, who tested and who was thought to be connected to our branch, does not match with Clifton. So my lines earliest ancestor is James & Roby (Martin) Livingston.

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Donald, Thanks so much for your response. Very helpful information. I have sent the info you provided to David Shue and my cousin Clifford. Hopefully David can pursue some more. I'm assuming there is no connection with Robert Livingston of Livingston manor--they are R1b, right? and Clifford is R1a? ...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
I had Clifton upgrade from 37 to 111 markers. He has match at a distance of 3 with a David Shue whose earliest know Livingston ancestor was Chauncey Livingston who died April 3, 1822 in Pennsylvania, maybe born in Gettysburg. He sent me this: "We have a fascinating quandary. My Livingston line ...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
I just got the FTDNA results from my 2nd cousin once removed (he is the great grandson to my great-great grandfather Giles Livingston), Clifton Livingston kit #859693. He does not match the descendants of James of Kinderhook--John Scott Livingston kit # 499765. Rather he is a genetic distanc...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Thanks, Donald, I believe that may be the answer! I accessed the Livingston/MacLea/Boggs Surname DNA Project I was talking about through FTDNA group link. This one: Project Website Livingston/MacLea www.familytreedna.com/groups/livingston-maclea-dna. And this is the chart that had the Herbert Living...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
My confusion is that Herbert Livingston #280901 is in our "9- M222 Ui Niall" group in the Livingston/MacLea/Boggs Surname DNA Project, but not on Scott's Y matches. I was wondering how he could show up as a Y match to Scott & Robert in the Project but not show up in Scott's Y DNA match...

Re: James Livingston/Catherina Kuhn ancestry
Herbert Livingston doesn't show up on John Scott's FTDNA matches. Only in the Project. Robert N Livingston was the match on the FTDNA match page. That's how I learned that he & Scott come from 2 different sons of Jacob L & Sarah House.
