Re: Livingstone Descendants Book

Rene' Welcome back. I understand the frustrations of having only part of the story on an ancestor. My big road block was trying to find out anything about my 4th great grandfather. Donald and I started on him back in about 2012 and couldn't find much. We gave up after about 3 months but got started ...

Re: Possible connection to the Livingston's of New York

Donald and I, mainly Donald, are so close to getting this straightened out. We've found missing people, dates, and locations. We've found that there have been people added that didn't exist except in someone's tree that they posted. So, we're going over everything to make sure it's correct and makes...

Bruce

We have proved that there is no connection between my ancestors and the Livingstons of New York. We were fairly sure by June of 2012 and when I joined the clan DNA project it was proven not to exist.

Re: Possible connection to the Livingston's of New York

Well, Donald Livingston Clink and I have been working on this problem since the beginning of last month. We have made LOADS of discoveries that have added information to the known families, more connections of those to other families, where most of them were born, AND one more generation back. DNA i...

Re: An interesting look at the origins of the Clan

Something to note on the McColl's. When I visited Scotland in 2017 and stayed with our Chief on Lismore, we toured the cemetery at the Kirk there. There were a lot of McColl's in the cemetery and still on the island.

Re: The famous David Livingtone

The best place to find out about Dr. Livingstone is at the David Livingstone Birthplace in Blantyre. They have a lot of very well set up displays. https://www.david-livingstone-birthplace.org/

Re: An interesting look at the origins of the Clan

Welcome to the forum, Bruce. One thing to note, is that the Livingstons of Linlithgow were Lowland Scots while the MacLea's and Livingstone's are Highland Scots. There is some documentation that indicates that there is some relation between the two but nothing that confirms the connection that I hav...
