Remember this was written by a Stewart and has many errors. Don't forget the evidence: Appin means the Abbey Lands!! We were and still are the hereditary abbots.

That is a very interesting collection of names. I can't remember the details but for many years my father was in contact with a Canadian Boggs who was convinced that his family were Livingstone/MacLeas. Many of the other names could also be MacLea. There is one Donlevy which is a variation of MacLea...

On modern maps you will find it spelt Acharacle.

There is a very striking Livingstone feature in that picture which stands out a mile when you know what to look for. It is hard to describe but is a kind of receding hairline at the temple.

In the McLea manuscript the following passage makes it clear that the McLeas of Lindsaig descend from the McLeas of Achnacree, opposite Lismore. “There were also the McLeas of Achnacree of whom the family of Lindsaig is descended, who were possest of the Lands of Achnacree for a long time” Footnote ...
