A common sense explanation of TMRCA calculations
I like this explanation by Ken Nordtvedt. Ken is one of the best mathematicians amongst us amateurs in genetic genealogy. He has been a NASA scientist and a senator:

Re: Updates for project. PLEASE NOTE.
UPDATE 2. I have posted a draft master file in spreadsheet form on the Yahoo group for the DNA forum. Why? Because that is a members only group and this file contains a lot of personal contact e-mails etc. Once again please note that for the time being the DNA project still has a forum in Yahoo spac...

Updates for project. PLEASE NOTE.
Hi everyone I wanted to let you all know that despite how it may sometimes appear, the co-admins and I have busy working on this project! :) Some of you will of course be aware of correspondence going on by e-mail concerning various groups being tested, but more importantly what I am referring to is...

Re: Which MacDunnsleibhe?
Hi Donald The problem with answering this question is that even defining the meaning of this question raises problems. Who were the Picts? For example, some would equate the word Pict in early context to "British", and some would say that the Argyll region was Gaelic oriented before writte...

Re: Which MacDunnsleibhe?
Hi Craig Nice to hear from you. I am wondering if your old mail address still works? I think it is preferable to look at bigger groups of data, but the result of such a look does turn out the same: the clan's male lines appear to be typical of Argyll families, and not of Irish families. Keep in mind...

Re: Livingstones of Rutherglen and Alberta?
I should explain my interest. Someone from this family tested on smgf.org but there is no way to contact them via that organization unless they "unlock" their results. Secondly they are not too far from the Bachuil DNA signature.

Livingstones of Rutherglen and Alberta?
I'd be very interested to have contact with the Livingstone family which descends from John LIVINGSTONE b. 30 Aug 1866 Scotland, m. 10 Apr 1894 Rutherglen, Lanarkshire, Scotland, d. 17 Feb 1924 Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Anyone know them?

Re: George Theophilus Livingstone of Canada
A bit more information. 1. George is supposed to have been born in Guyana 1892. 2. I have been told his parents were named John Isaac Livingstone and Jane Dawdes. 3. Also I have been told that the wife of George was Gladys Louise Saunders. I know we have lots of keen Canadians out there, and maybe w...
