From Alan Livingstone
Thanks for passing on Alan's message Kyle. Alan had only just a month or so ago discovered to his surprise that he is a long lost relative of Niall and his father! I am glad the project has helped in some ways to re-create ties in this ancient clan. Best Regards Andrew

RIP Alastair Livingstone of Bachuil
<t>Dear Niall I suppose we may call this the end of a fine era for this clan, and I believe it will be the start of a very good new one in the same tradition. I am so very happy that I was able to meet your father on behalf of my own Livingstone family, just as I am happy to have your acquaintance. ...

James Livingston of Kinderhook
<t>Hi everyone DNA update. Well, I can not say not yet say that we are confident that we have identified the Clermont line's DNA signature, but it is probably that of one of the kits 40585, 92987, or 97445. This Kinderhook family should be 109136. All four are very different from each other! Best Re...

Mull Livingstone and Bachuil Livingstone DNA connection
<t>Thank you Donald! Despite the new complexity (I never realized how many Livingstones there were on Mull in the early 19th century for one thing!) I do think that the last few weeks have given some of the most important progress in the project for a few years. Perhaps very importantly for the proj...

Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs
<t>Thanks Niall! It is interesting to see how they've mixed the lowland and highland aspects without being too dogmatic. However I wonder if we can really say that it is is known that the Livingstones of Bachuil are a branch of the Livingstons who were so powerful in the lowlands. Isn't that still a...

DNA project update
<t>Hi Craig That would be Roslyn. Funnily enough she lives a few hours from here, near the Rhine, and her family are Australian like mine. Roslyn's family also come from the Dundee area, and also go back to the spelling Livage, but there is no known link between our families. Therefore we seem to ha...

DNA project update
Hi! Family Tree DNA registers 94 people under the project, and then there are a few tests done through other companies or waiting for results, so "about 100" sound like the best answer. Best Regards Andrew

Another Irish surname of possible interest
<t>Yes Kyle One of the practical things about DNA projects is that if there is no project currently existing, then it is in our own interests to help the Irish Dunleavys become involved in genetic genealogy, even if the eventual outcome is that we never find any evidence for any links and perhaps th...
