Before I go from Perthshire I'd like to say I found Patrick Livingstone c. 1750 and his brother John c. March 6, 1757 in Saint Martins, Perth; sons of Patrick Livingstone.
Patrick died in Robeson City, North Carolina in 1832.
Patrick's name came-up when we were discussing the Parker line with Jeanne Parker.,

Patrick died in Robeson City, North Carolina in 1832.

Oh! Thanks for that note. I know this couple. When you get near the Angus border you have to double check for the Livage, Lovage, Lovatch, Lievitch etc. spellings. (There is also a small family of MacPheties in Perthshire who were Livingstones, as mentioned in the "Account".)

Interesting point: the Livitch/Livingstones of Angus tested so far, including my Livingstones, have a close DNA match to the McLays of Clackmannanshire, though not to the Parker/Livingstone group. (This does not mean they can't have a connection somehow, just not the same male line.) It would be great to find a link! Why was this Patrick thought relevant to the Parker group?

Do you know anyone from this family? It would be fantastic to get them in the DNA project! If it turns out this man is in the Parker Livingstone group it would at the very least prove just how strongly these alternative spellings were understood to mean "Livingstone". I still find it very mysterious. Yes, they both have an L and a V, but they are not really very similar!
