Hope clansmen the world over are enjoying a day to salute the "Bard of Ayrshire"--Robbie Burns!

Even if you have no haggis, and no desire to salute one, here are the words you're looking for:

Kyle,

We had a Burns night last Wednesday, in the middle of the Sinai Desert, there were at least 11 nationalities attending, including American, Canadian, Norwegian, obviously Scots, Urugyans, Columbians, Aussies, Kiwis, French, other Brits, at least one Fillipino, & Fijians, a total of around 70 to 80 people attended an excellent night.
I doubt very much, that other than the Commonwealth nationals & Americans, anyone actually had any clue what it was all about, but, as we had around 1000 pounds worth of malts going free, every one appeared to enjoy themselves.

Now that is a celebration, John! :)

I am glad to hear it, wish I could have been there to help you out with some of the provisions.

Hi John,
You live such an interesting life.
Someday you really must write an article in our Clan Society Newsletter on your travels and adventures in the Middle East.
As you may know from having read the Baron's biography and that of his late father Baron Alastair Livingston on the Clan Maclea Livingstone Society Webpage, our Clan Chief Baron Niall Livingstone was born in Lebanon and Baron Alastair Livingstone who died in 2008 spent a good deal of his life in the Middle East.

regards,

Donald
