John ("Jack") William Livingstone Sr. signed up sometime right before Nov 11, 1918, in Utah.
He met Mabel Neslon who was Miss Utah 1916 and they married. They went by train to the ship and he sailed out. Right after the ship got out of the harbor Armistice was signed. They turned the ship around and backed the train with the wives on it all the way back to the shipyard.
