Re: Which test?
Hi Rene Just a thought. There may be some male Livingstones back in your history you don't know about. One way you could try to find one is through autosomal DNA which normally goes back to 4 generations. If you can find an autosomal Chapman match on say gedmatch they might be the male you are looki...

Re: Livingstone the village dates back to 12 th century

Yes that is correct R-FT134647 for both my male Livingstone cousin Phillip Livingstone and for Ronald L Livingstone II. Both have done Big Y. Ronald lives in North Carolina (John Livingston/Liveston b. abt 1751 Forfar)

Re: James Livingston and Sarah Wood Tranent Parish, East Lot
Thanks Donald for the feedback. The fact that they are a direct match on the Big Y means they are from the same male line. I agree with you as it seems the 1600's is a good guess. Also Genetic Distance of 5 at 111 markers. I assume Edwin Livingstone might also be in the same grouping but not tested ...

Re: John Livingston and Helen Cockburn Marriage
HI Not sure if this will help. It seems to me that the paper records for the Livingston line have reached a dead end at 1730 with Alexander. Our Livingston YDNA takes the story from the same family tree a little further back to LIvage and Livingstone into the 1600's in the Glammis Forfar area. Just ...
