I have found Gedmatch over the years to be of equal or great value than even Ancestry dot com.
I use it weekly to check on new matches within the ancestor projects.

Re: Livingstone Descendants Book
Donald, Long time, no post. Regarding your response above this, if you were referring to Peter Livingston and his wife Janet Riddle (Canadian flax empire), I'm aware that he is not my Livingstone. I received information from his great granddaughter that they originated from the Lowlands and the date...

Re: William Livingstone
Hi R. Livingston, I have updated this post because looking back at your earlier messages regarding your grandfather Guy Livingston and the earlier U.S info on Guy and his family very likely he and his Father had no close family connection to the Mabou Mull River Livingstons and there is no informat...

Re: William Livingstone
You are correct about the DNA project, it is for the male line. If you have a male Livingston relative that you could convince to join the project that would help you. There were a lot of Livingstons that came through Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, and the Carolinas. I have traced mine back to my ...

Livingstone Descendants Book
When my dad passed, there a book that he had that I wanted but my brother took it. It was supposedly a history of the Livingstone's..... the cover was dark red, paperbound and it was just stapled together. I know it's a long shot but does anyone remember seeing a book about Livingstone's that looked...

Re: Which test?
Someone who has done test, please confirm for me the following information: Choosing the Right Test Taker Since the Y chromosome is only inherited by men, women cannot take a Y-DNA test- but they can still take advantage of Y-DNA testing to help break down their paternal-line brick walls! It is impo...

Which test?
My son is going to do a Ydna test for me. The Big Y test is out of the question due to cost so which of the other ones, through FTDNA, should I choose? Is the Y-37 good enough to be able to find the Livingstone info I need? EDITED TO ADD: There are no direct Livingstone men alive in my family nucleu...
