Hi Kyle,

One of the challenges in studying the Scottish Macleas is that many dispersed by the 1800's from their ancestral points of origin into other parts of Scotland and some in England. I always find that a challenge which was one of reason I spent time looking at the Macleas, Macleays, Maclays on County by County basis to try and get some sense of things. Some of the Macleas have been helpful connecting themselves and their ancestors to some of the old Macleas in the census records.

regards,

Donald
